With the credit Crunch in full swing, small to medium London companies are finding it incredibly difficult to get funding. We know the banks aren’t playing ball and so who can London companies turn to?
I had never heard of Business Angels, but these private investors are a bit little the “Dragons Den” investors, in that they are looking to invest in businesses that will provide a good return on their investment – without humiliating their potential partners!
London Business Angels has access to over 160 London based business angels with over £50million available for investment.
Individually, angels typically invest between £10,000 and £100,000 per transaction and from £100,000 to £750,000 as a group. They invest in one to six transactions per year. For the risk and added value they provide, angels seek returns of at least ten times their investment.
There is a £99 registration fee for companies, who need to provide a business summary. The second step is for the organisation to submit a business plan and record a video for investors. Business Angels alos run a “speed-pitching”, where company representatives have 3 minutes to pitch their plans to investors.
Probably worth giving these guys a look in, just in case, you never know they may be able to help out.
