bloomsbury-bowlingBloomsbury Lanes is an old school bowling alley, which is hidden away in Holburn. It’s an ideal night out for all the trendies out there obsessed with vintage clothes and the 1950’s. Bloomsbury Lanes offers eight original lanes, three karaoke rooms and can be hired out for corporate events, Christmas parties and special events.

This place is the real deal, every inch is original and as soon as you step inside you feel like you have walked straight onto a ‘Happy Days’ set. All of the decor and furniture is Americana chic. It must have taken some real searching to find all the leather diner booths, retro computer games and bar stools.

This venue would be a great place for an unusual first date or as somewhere to pick up some food in the full 50’s diner. They offer typical American food like burgers, shakes and platters to share if you are looking for some respite from the bowling action.

Even if bowling isn’t your thing it’s still worth checking out this unusual bowling alley because of the set up and atmosphere alone.

Also the alley offers a great deal more than bowling and often hosts live music acts and bands. In the past groups such as the Automatic, Be Your Own Pet and other renowned DJ’s have performed to crowds sipping cocktails in the bar.

The cocktail bar is pretty well stocked and offers eclectic range of cocktails and beers from around the globe.

Worth checking out the bloomsburybowling website to see what’s on before you go as they have different events depending on the night of the week. Places and lanes can be booked and they often offer special deals for set numbers of games or larger groups.

We think “Fonzi” would give it the two thumbs up, “Aaay!”
