All Saints London

| No CommentAll Saints of Spitalfields is a clothing brand with a distinctive edge. They make the kind of jeans you’ll see on someone with interesting hair hanging around Hoxton or Shoreditch and they probably clothe half the audience of venues like The Old Blue Last and events like Field Day. In other words, where Primark is cheap and Topshop is trendy, All Saints is ‘cool.’
In the never-ending battle that is trying to put together an outfit that you won’t see on the first person you come across when you step onto the train in the morning, All Saints is your friend. Ok so their stuff is still mass-produced and far, far from unique but, mainly because of the prices, you’re unlikely to see it on a teenager hanging around outside superdrug smoking B&H and swigging White Lightening.
As the name would suggest, the brand started out in Spitalfields and it’s nice to know you’re supporting something that at least sounds genuinely local as you shell out £70 for a jumper. Their clothes are best suited to people of a certain physique – skinny – but you can make a number of their items work over a range of different figures. Just beware that particularly with the menswear you are likely to have to go up a size to fit into the shirts, no matter how rail thin you are. The current women’s collection features a range of billowy cotton dresses, a gorgeous blue and white striped skinny jumper with a dipped neck and an impressive selection of jersey and battered leather jackets. For the men, their grey cut-offs are particularly ‘now’ as well as a selection of hooded shirts for those slightly cooler summer days and again those battered leather jackets they do so well. If this sounds like your bag, head down to one of their shops in locations such as Spitalfields, Covent Garden and Islington and see what you can find (www.allsaints.com).
